Last week I rushed to post a quick blog post of the family pictures the morning before I left for London (click here to see the link). I skipped over one of the most precious photo’s and only discovered it todayLittle Jordyn picking up an acorn with her tiny little fingers. I stared at this photo for so long and realised that from that little acorn a whole forest of oak trees can grow. Our children are like those acorns, we can plant them in the most nurturing environment, and watch them grow, give them the fruits of life and see how they develop into oak trees, with their roots grounded by what we teach and show them every day. As seasons change the colour and shape of the oak trees, so will our children change through their “seasons” in life, we will share with them joy, sadness and success. Cherish every moment with them. Our children are one of the biggest gifts we as parents receive, they are tiny little acorns amongst a field of dreams.
PS: As I went through the pictures I realised that she held on to that tiny acorn for the whole shoot.
