Family photography – The Murray’s – Murrayfield

I cannot believe how quickly these kids grow up, it was about 2 years ago when I last photographed the Murray’s. Lienke was a little todler and could hardly speak, she had me sweating at the time…hahaha, and WH was my hero, making funny faces at his sister to get her to give me that awesome smile. A little while ago I had the privilege to photograph this beautiful family again at their home “Murrayfield”. Wow, what an awesome place.

When I stepped out of the car, it felt like I was a thousand miles away from the busy Johannesburg, tranquility and peace…until I saw the dogs;)Let me tell you they are HUGE, who saw Turner and Hooch? well these dogs look like that, and even when they run, you see their lips flapping in the air. Trust me, I saw this and was brave enough to stand in the open to take a photo at this stunning dog. You know with a Canon 70- 200mm zoom lens everything looks larger, so I was not fussed when I saw this huge face in front of me, until I realised that actually he was licking the camera lens, AND, I was on my back being licked by this gorgeous dog. You will see the photo’s of him running to his prey (me).

It was such an awesome afternoon, I could not wait to take a tour through the stunning home, and saw the pictures I took of them 2 year ago on their wall, mounted on canvas.  The evening we spend chatting away over a glass of red wine and dinner, what a super awesome family. Walter and Karin, thank you so much for allowing Jaco and me to once again document a part of your life story.

Venue: Murrayfield
