It was our first time having the opportunity to photograph a wedding at the stunning Legend golf and Safari resort. Blaire and PJ are based in the United Kingdom and planned their wedding very long distance. It was an e-mail exchange between me and Blaire, and off course not just wedding related stuff, I got some great tips on shopping in the UK!
We met Blaire with her bubbly personality and heard about all her ideas. A unique wedding, she wanted a She-been style wedding but also have a mix of elegance in between. They transformed the she-been at the Legend gold and Safari resort into a magical, enchanted african luxury she-been. The light up signs and the bicycle wheel chandeliers were all made by her dad.
She had the most unique decor I have ever seen at a wedding, not one fresh flower (even her bouquet was made out of paper flowers). A burts of industrial decor to fit perfectly with her personality (Blaire is a qualified engineer). I was standing there in admiration s to how she managed to transform this she-been into a elegant african hideout.
We were watching the clouds come over, and althought there were some anxiousness around the outdoor ceremony, it all worked perfectly, a few drops of rain and once again beautiful clouds. They were serenaded with traditional african music while the guests muched on their canapés.
Just for the golfers out there, you can take the challenge of the world’s most talked about and unique Par 3, the Extreme 19th at Legend golf resort. Set high up on the impressive Hanglip Mountain, the hole is accessible only by helicopter and played to a green the shape of Africa some 400m below. The prize for the whole in one is $1mn, I better start going to those golf lessons.
Here are some pictures from their magical day.
