More than a year before their wedding date, we got an e-mail from Rina and Dave Vice. Their daughter Cindy is getting married…in South Africa.
The story is that Jaco and I met the Vice family in 2010. Cindy arranged a family shoot before she left for Holland to start a new life with Tim. 4 years later they got married at the beautiful Leopard Lodge in Hartbeespoort dam.
Cindy and Tim met in 2008 where they worked for the same company. The joke was, the morning that Tim arrived in South Africa, Cindy’s boss mentioned that he “imported” a husband for her (from Holland). They started slow off course as they struggled to understand each other, but language did not stop them and realised that if you mix a bit of Afrikaans and English together they could have a good enough conversation. It was on the mountains of Cape Town with stunning views where the spark started and they decided to go on a trip together to Tim’s hometown in Holland. Cindy not only fell head over heals for Tim, but also fell madly in love with his home country and decided to pack up and move with him in 2010.
4 years later, while Cindy’s parents were visiting them, Tim took his chances and asked Cindy’s hand in marriage. Cindy’s mom (Rina) was the wedding planner and did a magnificent job. Rina picked the stunning Leopard Lodge for the venue, with beautiful views over the Hartbeespoort dam, a perfect spot to show off our beautiful country to Tim’s family.
